Welcome to Through the Forest Farm, a market garden in Howard County, Maryland. Our journey began in 2023 when we moved to Clarksville, MD with the dream of starting an organic fruit and vegetable farm.

The vision for our 7 acre farm is to grow the highest quality produce, and provide a place for people to gather, volunteer on the farm and get their hands dirty, have farm to table meals, relax, have a few laughs, and make farm memories. In the 2024 growing season, we will have a small CSA of 10+ members and will grow exceptional produce such as (but not limited to):

Strawberries, asparagus, blueberries, salad greens, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, herbs, and cut flowers.

We are committed to organic, sustainable, and ecologically friendly farming practices. We use techniques such as intensive cover cropping, crop rotation, mulching, organic fertilizers, and the promotion of beneficial biology to improve resilience of the crops. Our dedication extends to using human-powered tools, and minimizing tillage to preserve the intricate soil food web that sustains our vibrant ecosystem.

Ben and Sarah have over 20 years combined experience in farming and gardening. This experience has ranged from Master Gardening classes, to managing the school farm in college, to growing in 6 different community gardens across the US, participating in orchard workshops, backyard gardening at home, and countless volunteer hours on farms. Through the Forest Farm is the genesis of all of this experience.
